The categories below link to sites that show the range of work that has been successfully implemented:
The following sites are one-page, CSS-styled, static-content sites that provide a simple yet effective window to the vision of the owners.
Major Events International
A very simple, one-page web site that duplicates a printed brochure, this is an excellent example of focusing the message, getting to the point and providing contact information for the interested... and nothing else.
Oakland University Fund
Another very simple, single-page web site that delivers an effective message without any glitter. The message is delivered and contact information is presented in an attractive manner without fuss or features that would obscure the intent.
A bit more involved than the single-page sites, these multi-page, comprehensive implementations take adventage of CSS-styling and the best of the new browser technology to deliver the vision effectively.
Show Supplies
A fairly basic site, featuring supplies and services for large displays and shows (and you thought this was all magic, right?). Completely styled in CSS, clean and functional. Extensive CSS allows for modular design, easy expansion and very easy updating while presenting a very attractive and professional face to the cyberspace world.
It's Ben Done
A basic site, with some hidden magic, that provides a young man the opportunity to provide service to others while earning a bit of money. CSS-styled, clean and functional, it allows clients to request and schedule services online through a simple yet secure interface.
The following sites are large, feature-rich, CSS-styled, database-driven sites that further the mission of their organizations without getting in the way of the message or the vision.
St. Valentine Catholic Elementary School
A fully database-driven, completely CSS-styled implementation. This site was designed from the start for efficiency in delivering essential information to busy parents and prospective families. Over the course of the last several years, it has evolved to include registration data processing, and also hot lunch and fund raising administration. The interactive content and information are controlled by those who own it, releasing the designers to explore new techniques and propose new features.
American Association of University Professors, Oakland University
This site was developed to deliver specialized content to a specific and dynamic audience. It is fully CSS-styled, incorporates an interactive News & Events feature and a online forum, and the content of all the pages can be changed by the current association officers.
Over 30 Softball
A full featured, fully CSS-styled, site that is the hard-working information center of an over-30 women´s Catholic softball league. One of the essential design parameters was to make the site extremely easy to keep updated. As a result, the (very busy volunteer) league commissioner inputs only the game scores during the season, and the (very complicated) league standings are automatically computed and displayed, along with a lot of visual celebrations of the thriving community and intense competition that characterizes the league.
United States Board of Books for Young People (USBBY)
Another full featured, fully CSS-styled, site that is the online presence of the US chapter of an international academic organization. Much of this content changes frequently, so the site was designed from the ground up to make the site easy to update. This site (as all good sites) is a work in progress, and development is rapidly taking place to add e-commerce capabilities to process dues payments and conference registrations online.
The California Reading Association (CRA)
Full featured, CSS-styled, AJAX_driven site for a very large state-wide association of reading teachers. The entire site, including the e-commerce portions, are under direct control of the owners - not the "webmaster", making the site very easy to update.
Ballots Online
A highly-sophisticated web site that provides the surprisingly complicated service of secure, online voting for organizations. The site is tightly controlled by the owners for security purposes, and the interfaces are highly refined, allowing many different elections to take place - in absolute security - at the same time.
SouthEastern Michigan Pistol Association (SEMPA)
SEMPA is a organization of pistol clubs in south east Michigan, organized in the 1950's, that provides recreational pistol competition. The website incorporates all of the complicated scoring rules fo the organization, freeing the officers of the organization to concentrate on serving the members instead of crunching numbers.
Michigan Association of Reading Professors
Another (you guessed it) full featured, fully CSS-styled, site for a small academic organization.
Canton/Salem 20th-Year Reunion
A site that was developed, as you might have guessed, for a 20th year high school class reunion coordinated by Major Events International (see above). The reunion committee accepted the first layout draft they saw, which accounts for the rather stark layout, but that was quickly overshadowed by the remarkable amount of interactive features that evolved as the reunion date came closer. Since the site no longer exists, what you will see here is a static snapshot as the reunion took place and the project ended.
prosperamusic.com
This web site was designed for a high-school garage band, interested in drumming up concert attendance and CD sales. In its original form it was highly interactive and much of the site content was directly controlled and input by the guys in the band. Since the band Prospera is now but a fond memory, the site you see here is static and in the state it was in as the band broke up. Lots of unconventional navigation, troublesome color schemes and edgy features, but it's all rock 'n roll.
The sites below are under construction. Please respect the privacy of these individuals and businesses as their sites begin to take shape and evolve to the point where they can stand on their own.
